Let’s get the simple and practical astrology out of the way for tonight. The entire New Years’ Eve is colored by a Pisces Moon conjoined Neptune. That’s a lovely aspect for escapist activities, remembering the past and doing a summary of what to let go or at years end, and what new beginning looms on the horizon. This is like putting one’s foot back into the past year and decade one last time before letting it go. That can lead to some tricky, old behavior patterns that might not be so good. It’s temporary, or at least it should be. This is a romantic and altered state type of energy. Choose your drug of choice whether it be booze, weed, mushrooms or something stronger. Or your drug of choice may be to be all alone in a more spiritual and meditative state of mind. Be aware that all emotions and feelings will be heightened and sensitized under this energy. What happens in the early morning hours of January 1st is that the Pisces Moon forms a sextile to Saturn and Pluto. That energy will do one of two things; if you’re in a partying mood that doesn’t want to stop then this can prolong some serious, intense and relentless behavior so be careful! If, on the other hand, you’re a more sane, practical and cautious type, this energy will introduce a slow feeling of sobriety and taking responsibility for your behavior so as not to go off the deep end. The Pisces Moon dictates the easy adaptability to a mood and the aspects to Saturn and Pluto will present an opportunity to sober up or go off further into la la land.
Over the next couple of days I’ll talk about the greater ramifications of this New Years’ Eve as it portends to some intense astrology culminating now: Eclipses, the end of a decade and the Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. It’s a triple whammy, end of the year one-two punch that will lay the groundwork for the next 10 years.
