The Moon's conjunction with Mercury today in Aquarius presents a wonderful opportunity to connect with others. This is a good day for charitable work and networking. Social activities also get a boost so make a date with friends that you haven't seen in a while. Loosen up lockdowns rules and protocols to a point where you feel comfortable. The mood is toward freedom and opening up to the possibilities.
Enjoy the night. Live, laugh, lover, learn! 2020 was shaped by the evolutionary forces of the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. 2021 will be dominated by Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus which perfects three times: February 17, June 14 and December 24. Saturn is in charge of the material world and preserving our earthly existence. He’s a task master, making us conscious and accountable for the productive use of time. He pressures us, sometimes through fear and guilt, to build careers and reputations and, perhaps, leave a legacy behind showing an impact of our existence on planet Earth. The outer planets don’t really care about mundane earthly existence. They deal with psychological and transpersonal themes beyond our immediate personal awareness and therefore have a tendency to throw things off balance and spinning out of control. It is Saturn’s job and responsibility to ground and make sense of the simultaneously creative and destructive forces of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in forms that we can practically utilize. Saturn must filter alien energy in a way that makes the unknown less fearful and more constructive. The outer planets can be experienced as a destructive transpersonal power or can transmute, transform and transcend by being woven into our earthly fabric in ways that enlighten and contain energy rather than short circuit it. 2020 was the year of a pandemic that was a catalyst for revealing cracks in our society, system and century old structures and institutions. Pluto’s terrain encompasses death, disease, destruction and evolutionary power. Pluto may violently erupt and break through Saturn’s protective walls and boundaries and in the process cause much terror, but it is Saturn’s job to responsibly limit destructive power. Saturn must fix what is broken by doing the necessary work to rebuild and reestablish the balance of law and order. Lest we forget, Lord Saturn is exalted in Libra. The Saturn/Uranus square of 2021 is about reining in chaotic craziness so society can incorporate the new, innovative, progressive and technological into some sane form of earthly manageability. The square signifies that the new, progressive and innovative will meet up with blocks, frustrations, limitations and restrictions in how it is assimilated. We all know this will have a great deal to do with speed and effectiveness in rolling out the Covid vaccine, as well as its efficacy, and whether or not half the population refuses it. The configuration will also continue the political polarization in our country and throughout the world. All you need to do is watch the news to see these planetary configurations playing out in real time. I’d like to talk more about the psychological effect on us personally, and how we can use this aspect to prepare for inevitable change and make way for a “new order,” so that the energy has some place to be received within our body, mind, heart and spirit. The mythology of Saturn and Uranus is fairly violent, and the imagery gives us some glaring lessons and insights on how to deal with this challenging square. Uranus mated with Gaia (Earth) and produced the first race of Titans, of whom Saturn was the youngest. Unfortunately, Uranus viewed his progeny with horror because of their imperfections. They were ugly and made of flesh, so he banished them to the depths of the underworld where they could not offend his sight. Gaia naturally became enraged and planned revenge. She recruited the services of her youngest, Cronus (Saturn), and gave him a sharp scythe. While Uranus laid asleep, Cronus castrated his father and cast the bleeding genitals into the sea. The genitals floated to the surface producing a white foam out of which rose Aphrodite (Venus). Thus we get the phrase, “Out of chaos comes creativity.” It’s also a symbol of the procreative powers of the sky god Uranus. Saturn square Uranus says we have to prepare for the future now, in the present, so that we have a vessel to hold and contain the new procreative power that is coming out of the ensuing chaos. Revolutions are bloody. Uranus in Taurus suggests that Gaia is unleashing something from her bowels, and that can be pretty terrifying unless Saturn takes control and channels that unleashed wildness with a new infrastructure. Uranus is the first planet beyond Saturn, so it harkens and says there’s a light in outer space that provides further enlightenment and knowledge. He wants to break through the ceiling and walls of Saturn, and if he has to crash into that ceiling, he will, in order to capture attention. Saturn’s initial negative response to foreign forces is to block, but once the fear is faced a more positive and constructive Saturn realizes that he must assimilate. Saturn in Aquarius says, “I’m willing to allow that enlightenment, but you have to let it in according to the dictates of time. I will not permit you to crash into the psyche of mankind and short circuit my children.” There are flashes of brilliance coming through the dark from beyond, and you have to make sure your wiring and hard drive is up to date and ready to receive the voltage, otherwise you can check out. Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus can easily be fearful of the eruptive changes to material security forced upon us by technology, ideological shifts, climate change, and political upheavals, as well as the general disruptive nature to our material security. Yet, don’t forget that Saturn has dignity in Aquarius, so he’s at home doing the necessary work to incorporate the change through filtering all the new stuff through a new set of rules and regulations. If you do the Saturn homework, then the fear of the unknown subsides as you start saying to yourself, “Ah, I can work with the new; I can learn to integrate more diversity; and I don’t have to allow fear to banish me into a smaller and more narrowed group of like-minded people that only support a special interest community.” That way of thinking is like the stereotypical rich, white wasp that moves into a restricted community that doesn’t allow Blacks, Jews, different religions, ethnicities or anyone who doesn’t earn a certain amount of money to move in. As we get older, Saturn has a way of making us pay attention to our knees, bones, teeth and skin as they start to break down and cause more problems. On a daily basis we are constantly reminded by Saturn to pay attention to these parts of the body. Saturn in Aquarius says it’s time to pay attention to what we are doing in the present moment, for it will determine our future. When a wise person pays attention to a problematic knee, they will work with it, go to the doctor, do more exercise, listen to the pain and put in the effort to buttress and support it in some way. That’s what we have to do psychologically in the Aquarius part of our chart. If you ignore the pain and sweep it under the carpet or hide it away, it festers and only gets worse, and then like all Gaia’s banished children, the ignored comes forth in more grotesque terms. Yet, by working with it and doing what you can to meet the challenge, you may not alleviate all the pain but you are able to discover ways to work with it. Saturn rules the end of time. We can gain a lot of knowledge and understanding from watching our elders and how they prepare for death and leaving the physical realm. The physical body breaks down for all. It is a common theme we all share, but how we prepare for that on a mental, spiritual and soul level can make a monumental shift when dealing with pain and suffering. You see the difference in those that enter their golden years with a continued, albeit more restrained life force vs. those whose light is visibly extinguished and darkness takes over. The Saturn/Uranus square begs the questions, “How will you deal with life now and prepare for the future?” Those that prepare for death both physically and psychologically are better equipped to deal with the unknown. Getting our personal infrastructure ready will prepare us for the future, just like the government has to work on the infrastructure of society towards putting money into public services. We have to take care of our own internal wiring to be prepared for the evolutions and revolutions within society. The generation born with Uranus in the first decanate of Aquarius (January 1996 through December 1998) will have to mature, step up to the plate and start taking responsibility for their vision of the future. This generation will be responsible for breaking past the old, ossified and outworn, and begin making their voices and actions heard to restructure laws, rules and regulations into something that holds more hope for the future. Saturn/Pluto said the old guard is dead, and Saturn/Uranus pushes past the old forms into a new paradigm based on the past. Look at the positions of transiting Saturn and Uranus in the natal chart to see the areas of life where the two energies play out the back and forth game of building and rebuilding, structure and re-structure, old vs. new, young vs. old and any other combination you can think of. I subscribe to the ancient rulership scheme; therefore Saturn rules both Capricorn and Aquarius, so check out the houses ruled by both signs for further insight. Pay attention the entire year when this fixed square is triggered by lunations in the fixed signs, as well as Mercury, Venus and Mars transiting the fixed signs and the stations direct and retrograde of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Saturn has dignity and power for the next two years while being in Aquarius and in a superior square overcoming Uranus. In traditional astrology, this is a dignified position for Saturn, so while there will be struggle, there is also great hope for the Uranian energy to enter our consciousness. Finally, because Uranus is in a sign ruled by Venus, pay careful attention to shifts in the structure of your value system, including money, career, earning potential and relationships when Venus enters her shadow and turns retrograde in the sign of Capricorn beginning on November 17, 2021 and lasting through March 2, 2022. Mercury retrograde conjoins the Sun. This is a time of rebirth in the area of communication and all mercurial matters. Burn off the old and non-essential, and plant the seeds in preparation for the start of a new beginning. For some it can be the processing of death. It's a good time to get to the heart of a matter. Siblings are a major Mercury issue so you may be experiencing more contact with them.
For those involved in writing, education or teaching there can be great strides made at this point of the Mercury retrograde. Mercury will square Mars on the 10th so be aware of how you direct words towards others. This is an action-oriented aspect that can lead to miscommunication and anger. This is the second of three three squares. Look back to what was initiated on 1/8 because at this time the story will deepen and progress. The three squares are: 1/8, 2/10 and 3/23. That's a three month period of an unraveling story that develops, is put into action and needs resolution. This pass is definitely about being well in the heart of the matter. Because Mercury is in Aquarius and Mars is in Taurus it's important to get a detachment from material concerns and learn to see things in a new light. It's about money, values, society and community. Personal wants vs. communal needs. With Mercury retrograde in Aquarius in my 4th Whole Sign house and 5th Equal Sign house I thought I would celebrate the family heritage and creativity. My Dad was a Capricorn and my Brother is an Aquarius so its time to honor the past contributions of my Dad and the present and future creativity of my Brother.
Addeo Bakers & Sons, Arthur Avenue, Bronx, NY - Little Italy. A family business whose legacy is worth celebrating. The bakery was established by my Grandparents Gennaro and Vincenzina who came over on that vast wave of southern Italian immigration in the 1920s. It was passed on to the loving and nurturing arms of my Father Larry and Uncle Sal in whose hands it flourished and grew. It is currently in the creative care and control of my brother Laurence Addeo and cousin Thomas Addeo who are keeping the family legacy alive, growing and thriving through a sustained commitment to quality. Bakers like my Grandparents, Father, Uncle, Brother and cousin are artists and artisans. Bread is the staff of life and that is truer now more than ever during a pandemic when we all are forced to review the simple and essential values that are most important. I’m so proud of my brother, cousin and entire crew for supplying life and love to the Bronx Community every day. In these crazy and evolutionary times they are adapting and taking daily risks so that the community can continue to be safe, be alive and grow. Family Businesses are the heart and soul of the community. They enhance our value and secure our future. Please support them. "Addeo and Sons Bakery, Arthur Avenue, Bronx NYC" by artist Thor Wickstrom. We are coming off a Leo Full Moon so I hope you all found some fun and joy and a renewed spirit in the past couple of days. Mercury stations retrograde today at 26 degrees of Aquarius and will remain so through February 21. The trickster entered Aquarius on January 8th and remains in this intellectually driven sign through March 17th. That's about three months to learn some logical new ways of doing things in your life based upon what house the transit occurs in your natal chart.
The first shadow of Mercury between January 8th and 30th starts to prepare you for the lessons that will inevitably challenge you on the formal retrograde between January 30th and February 21st. That will be the brunt of the period, the juicy part when you have to deal with the Aquarius themes in your life through the learning lens of Mercury. This is about a review of friendships and what they mean to you during the intense winter months of a pandemic. Who continues to add or decrease value to your group, pod, bubble, community or team? It's time to reorganize which friends and team members remain and which go. It's a wonderful time to get back in touch with those friends who have been at a distance and less reachable. This Mercury retrograde will also have a great deal to do with making sure your daily routine is in order in terms of technology at your home and office space. Is all equipment up to date so that it can handle the innovative and new ways of on-line communication? Rethink your strategies for using communication to better reach out to as many people as possible, especially for your business. Paperwork must be organized. The paradox of this mercury retrograde is that while you have to go deeper in order to make a review of your life and how it functions on a daily basis the sign of Aquarius demands detachment and a bird's eye view from a distance. Go deeper and aim your vision to see the bigger picture. The purpose is to liberate, not limit. The focus becomes stronger and fixed towards dealing with the past in order to move forward towards a stronger more secure future. The second shadow of Mercury which occurs from February 21st through March 14 has a more liberating quality where you see if what was worked on during the retrograde has been adjusted in your life in a way that improves the daily routine, and if not, to make further adjustments to get the train fully on course. Here's a brief synopsis of the houses which is where Mercury retrograde events play out the themes in action-oriented ways. House 1: The personality, the image, the look and the appearance and face that you show the world. This is a house where you personally make new beginnings to act in new ways. House 2. What brings marriage partners, business partners and close relationships even closer. Those things that emotionally bond you to others like sex and money. House 9: All things foreign, travel, culture, religion, higher education, philosophy and your belief systems. The law and legal matters. Publicity, advertising, importing and exporting. Retirement, Charity, sacrifice, surrender. Art, music, poetry. Doing things in solitude that require being alone. Vacation, being by the water, being in the imagination through healthy and unhealthy fantasy, Pain and suffering or joy and freedom. This house is a paradox and conundrum. Mercury retrogrades are wonderful opportunities that happen three times a year where we reset our daily routine. Think of it as doing continued work on your personal infrastructure. We have to upkeep bridges, roads, homes, buildings, cars, machinery by constant repairs and adjustments and that's what Mercury retrograde does for each of us three times a year on a personal level. My last several posts have been very intense and I know that. But we are living through intense times and while I usually like to give an uplifting outlook as much as possible I have to call things as I see it and not gloss over hard and difficult aspects. It doesn't really matter what part of the political spectrum you fall on, so when I talk about things like revolution and the breakdown of old structures and the push towards something new and evolutionary, that would happen no matter which president or administration is in office. The events may be played out differently but the astrology remains the same. Revolution is revolution and disruptive no matter which side you fall on, but who is in charge will dictate the form and substance.
So the Sun will enter Aquarius tomorrow and on schedule a new administration will be sworn in shortly thereafter and life goes on. Aquarius is the sign of politics, democracy and group consensus. The Sun focuses its will on this sign and with Jupiter and Saturn both in this sign for the entire year all the growth and restriction will be around the political arena and the thoughts, ideas, freedom, and the group with which you align yourself. What is your political team and who are your group of friends? A pandemic forces you to choose your pod, your bubble, your family, your friends that you want to be part of. It's like living in a restricted community where you have a fence that keeps out the undesirables from the people that have chosen to live there. This is a time when people of a like mind join and band together to form safety in numbers. You can see the positive and negative side to that way of thinking. Inauguration Day has challenging aspects so that means the new president and administration will have monumental challenges over the course of the next 4 years. This chart becomes one of the few charts we use to make predictions for the country over the next four years along with the president's chart and the USA natal chart. Another observation about Uranus moving forward in Taurus and an important part of this energy is detachment from what owns you. Taurus is a sign very concerned with money, possessions and material security. Uranus is a planet that demands separation, logic and detachment and often does this, as all the outer planets do, in ways that catch us off guard and make us feel a loss of control and grounding. Uranus does this often through divorce, separation, sudden outbursts, riots, breaks as well as epiphanies, flashes of brilliance and enlightenment. Taurus likes to accumulate because it thinks it needs lots of things in its life for security and stability. Taurus at its most negative is about the 7 deadly sins: Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Lust, Pride, Sloth and Envy. Uranus in Taurus will force a split and a separation from those things, people, places and situations that we no longer think we need. If it owns you then Uranus says, nuh uh, it's not necessary. You may be forced to split from whatever brings that false security. The break may occur through circumstances beyond your control and that would be painful but you also may come to certain conclusions on your own and the split, separation and divorce may be done as a more conscious choice. Often it's a combination of both where an event forces a release and then the action taken surrounding that event becomes more conscious and pushes you in a new direction. If the things you possess are putting you in bondage then its time to break those chains that bind and seek more freedom. Uranus in Taurus says simplify your life by giving up that which owns you. When you shed layers of stuff your burden is lightened and the walk becomes lighter. You may also unleash new talent and creativity. That is ultimately what is being asked of you on a deeply personal level. The planet Uranus is receiving a tremendous amount of action these days so we will continue to see things such as rebellions, chaos, unexpected upheavals and turnarounds, things moving at warp speed, craziness, new movements getting under way, political ideologies moving forward and gaining strength and power. We have an old administration leaving and a new one coming in but it is not a peaceful transition by any stretch of the imagination and the astrology says it will not be for a long time. Some of the positive themes of this Uranian/Aquarius energy is about the hope for a new future, the hope for an efficacious vaccine and swift distribution. The hope for the future and a new economy getting under way. Progressive and innovative new technologies improving life on earth. All this is wonderful and will happen but not in the immediate future. First there is revolution and turmoil before there is a birth. Uranus the sky God was castrated and his bloody genitals dropped in the sea. Eventually out of the sea a procreative power emerged from those castrated genitals in the form of Aphrodite/Venus. And new beauty and peace was born. But the birth of that beautiful Venusian energy came from a bloody event. An Aquarian/Uranian quote that is often used is, "Out of Chaos Comes Creativity".
So, let's map out what Uranus is doing. She turned direct yesterday in the sign of Taurus so things are now moving forward with the Uranian and Taurus side of life including money and politics. Time to move forward with a new regime and throw away the old and on with the new. The old values are gone and the new ones are coming in. This is felt on a personal level as it pertains to the house position in your natal chart. This weekends Jupiter/Uranus square exaggerates, inflames, fans the fires, expands and increases any of the myriad political and social problems we are facing. This adds to the increase of COVID vaccines but also the sloppiness of the roll out. There is too much waste on this aspect. There is also waaaaay tooooo muuuuuuch religious and political proselytizing. Belief systems get stretched out of whack in the polarization and extremism of beliefs and philosophies. There's a lot of "Freedom Fighter" imagery here. Don't fence me in, don't hold me back and DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!!! The Sun enters Aquarius on the 19th followed by a Mars/Uranus conjunction on the 20th. This is a volatile and combative energy. Mars wants Uranus to take quick, decisive, sudden, and unexpected action. This is not a pleasant aspect considering the times we are living in. Do not pick unnecessary fights with others. The outcome of things will not go as planned. Mars represents anger, violence, combat and the military while Uranus is about rebellions, reveloutions, chaos and making breaks and having divorces. If the energy is used wisely then this is highly action-oriented creative types of thinking and actions that can make incredible strides in self-discovery with brilliance, innovation and uniqueness. Unfortunately in society we are seeing so much more of the negative side of all this energy playing out. See if in your personal life the positive energy can manifest as you may have more of a conscious choice as to how to direct the energy. Look for love with your friends, family and try to be objective in how you view situations. A healthy detachment can bring a greater awareness of the humanity in everyone and all things and ultimately broaden one's view of brotherly and sisterly love. There's a maelstrom of nasty aspects approaching so be prepared to gird your loins.
Mercury squares Uranus today. Unexpected news and chaotic information. Knee jerk responses and lashing out verbally. Venus squares Chiron: dealing with deep seated relationship wounds that need to be addressed. The challenge to heal relationships as well as feelings of low self-worth and self-esteem. Money challenges. Mars squares Saturn: Getting fired from a job. The action you take goes against your best interests. The frustration of having the powers that be having control over your sense of direction. Driving with one foot on the gas with the other on the brake. Slow, measured and delayed action after knocking your head against a brick wall. Authorities fighting a mob. Add to this mixture the upcoming Capricorn new moon which is one of the shittiest of the year. Why do I say that? Because the degree of this new moon is at the degree of transiting Pluto. Pluto rules the bowels, the shit, the depths, things that are vile, base and seedy so this new moon is the beginning of a shit show so to speak. Pluto conjunct a new moon is an initiation into terror and spits in our face. I don't use the word holocaust lightly but there is that feeling in the air and no one can deny it. We must transform the energy and power into something that can evolve but that's the energy on the other side of the tunnel and I'm afraid we haven't gotten there yet. On a personal level a Capricorn New Moon conjunct Pluto says how are you structuring the use of power in your life? Are you using power constructively or destructively? How much influence do you have? How much control do you have over the constructs of your life right now and how much are you at the mercy of others? Do you even have any power? What new beginnings are some of you forced to make because of death and destruction through no fault of your own. Others have benefited from a bad situation not in a greedy way but just because of the nature of their work. If you're in that position how can you consolidate that power and use it to help others while in the process of helping yourself. These are not pretty times and Plutonian energy is raw and visceral and has dominion over the flight or fight energy of the root chakra. You're probably tired of hearing me say this but these are evolutionary times and evolution is a new birth. Birth is never easy. It's a new year and everyone is happy to be rid of 2020. So many are optimistic for the future especially as the Saturn/Jupiter conjunction on December 22, 2020 heralds a new beginning in the world via the economy and personally as to how we will approach dealing with the future based upon new social and work structures. This conjunction initiates a 20 year period of new technology, innovation and progress. Aquarius is a Saturn ruled sign so it isn't about throwing out all the old for the new. It's more about refurbishing the old into something new. Keeping structures in our life that still work but updating them. Some structures, institutions and laws will fall by the wayside but in reality most will be transformed so the new energy coming from without has a receptacle to hold it in place and create new modalities. Saturn in Aquarius must provide a box, vehicle and guidelines to hold new information, otherwise chaos ensues. Aquarius deals with the infrastructure of society and the common theme over the next two years will be rebuilding our infrastructure.
Because Aquarius is the sign of hope, optimism, goals, the future, innovation and progress everyone is viewing this as something positive, which it is, but let's not think that all of a sudden there's going to be a miracle and everything will suddenly shift into a utopian fantasy. That's not the way the world works or astrology. Aquarius is the sign of revolutions and as history has proven they often start with a bold new concept towards liberty and freedom from oppression but they quickly turn into a bloodbath. If after the revolution you're not on the same page as the new power dynamic then they often perform a "sweep and purge" type of movement by castrating, beheading and annihilating those that don't align with the new group energy --- and often with a ferocity that is equal or worse to their oppressors. This is the downside of this sign and we must always keep this in mind. Hopefully in modern times we won't see literal beheadings but the metaphor of the words I use is apt. You can see the Saturn/Jupiter conjunction already in action in the isolated subject of the pandemic and the vaccine. A positive part of the equation is the quick development of a vaccination providing great hope for the future. The other part of the equation is that January will be the highest death toll in the USA since the pandemic started and it looks like a long hard winter of lockdown with most of the population not getting vaccinated till the spring. That's if the distribution isn't snagged through bureaucracy, efficacy and also whether or not some of the population refuses taking it. These are big hurdles. Americans don't like giving up their individualism or any infringement on freedom. Aquarius represents a conundrum on whether or not freedom is attained through adhering to the group consensus or separating from the group for the greater belief in personal freedom as opposed to a more collective response. There will be more rigid thinking and political polarization and demonstrations of extreme types of revolutionary behavior. There will be a warp speed energy in society of great technological advancements but we must be sure to bring everyone along for the ride and not just those that can keep up. You can't throw away the old in unfeeling cold ways. Many great and wonderful things will continue to happen along with the chaos that creativity requires. A note on the Cancer full moon that has capped 2020 and initiated 2021. This full moon, like all astrological aspects, can be interpreted several ways. A full moon in Cancer asks us to reflect upon the past. Cancer is concerned with security, memories, the past, home, family, bonds and love. If this has been a horrible year for you with many difficult challenges coming to light due to Covid (or anything else) then the reflection of the year may be one of sadness, depression and feeling down. You may have come to realize under lock down who your true family is, whether blood or chosen. Some may have disappointed in profound ways. You may have ended close family ties and friendships because of an awareness that certain bonds aren't worth holding on to. For others who have gotten closer to family members and have formed more cherished bonds, then the year in review is more deeply satisfying as a result of getting to love people, places, pets or things on a deeper and wiser level --- and that is a great gift. For most of us the realization will fall in both categories. We all must reflect on what love is about in our life and promote greater personal intimacy within the swirl of evolution surrounding us. The end of the year full moon and first week into January is an accounting and review of the past year. What have you learned from the past? How have you dealt with the past? What challenges did you face? What must you let go of and what must you retain? This review offers an important recap before we move forward into the future. Those that are more reflective will move forward wisely, carefully and with a more grounded purpose even amidst any continuing disruptions that 2021 brings your way. Wednesday, December 2. Mercury has entered Sagittarius along with the Sun and with a Sagittarius eclipse looming on December 14th this sign is grabbing focus for better and worse. While we all admire the enthusiasm, high-spirited, fun loving and inspirational side of this sign there is also another side to acknowledge that is, shall we say, less easy to be around.
Mercury traveling through this sign can exacerbate some of the negative traits such as exaggeration, stretching the truth to suit ones point of view to the point of lying, and giving out way too much information than is necessary. Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius because Mercury demands facts and information and nothing extraneous. The higher octave of Sagittarius forms opinions based on facts but the lower form (which is on display more than one would like) will spout opinions based on a gut emotion often without taking logical information into account. Remember when Donald Trump said on his inauguration day in 2017 that there were more than a million people attending when photos, journalists and other reported the facts differently? Mercury in Sagittarius is not so concerned with the facts as it is with making you believe the truth from the perspective of the person speaking. Mercury in Sagittarius likes to bend the truth to what it perceives to be true. It’s the friend who says with great gusto, “I haven’t had sex in over 6 months” and then an hour later they blurt out that last week they had a one night stand, and when you call them out on it they laugh and say, “Oh yeah, I forgot!” It’s also very concerned with size like bigger, better, larger, more expensive, more exciting, flashier and looking for the next adventure or party as opposed to appreciating what is staring them right in the face at the present moment. It also likes to pass judgment like no one’s business. Covid brings out some great examples of negative Sagittarius zealous behavior. There is a self-righteous zeal that comes into the opinion expressed and they will pass judgment and condemn you if your belief system isn’t in line with theirs as to correct modes of behavior. Often this sign says there is only one right way and it is mine! And they speak with conviction as if commanded by the voice of God! Think of religious zealots and missionaries who constantly condemn others for not following the precepts, faith, religion and laws regarding a righteous and true way to live one’s life. Mercury in Sagittarius just doesn’t know when to keep its mouth shut even if what it is expressing is valid and has meaning. Because the eclipses fall in the Sagittarius/Gemini polarity this month we will see these behaviors heightened, inflated and overly sensitized. Mercury will be in Sagittarius through December 20 but you should be aware of the trickster being at his most tricky when he goes out of bounds on the 12th, followed by a tense square aspect to Neptune on the 13th and then the solar eclipse on the 14th. The middle of the month is going to be a very, very tricky time to discern fact from fiction and a test of your mettle in filtering communication, knowing what to say, how to say it, and who to listen to. |
