My last several posts have been very intense and I know that. But we are living through intense times and while I usually like to give an uplifting outlook as much as possible I have to call things as I see it and not gloss over hard and difficult aspects. It doesn't really matter what part of the political spectrum you fall on, so when I talk about things like revolution and the breakdown of old structures and the push towards something new and evolutionary, that would happen no matter which president or administration is in office. The events may be played out differently but the astrology remains the same. Revolution is revolution and disruptive no matter which side you fall on, but who is in charge will dictate the form and substance.
So the Sun will enter Aquarius tomorrow and on schedule a new administration will be sworn in shortly thereafter and life goes on. Aquarius is the sign of politics, democracy and group consensus. The Sun focuses its will on this sign and with Jupiter and Saturn both in this sign for the entire year all the growth and restriction will be around the political arena and the thoughts, ideas, freedom, and the group with which you align yourself. What is your political team and who are your group of friends? A pandemic forces you to choose your pod, your bubble, your family, your friends that you want to be part of. It's like living in a restricted community where you have a fence that keeps out the undesirables from the people that have chosen to live there. This is a time when people of a like mind join and band together to form safety in numbers. You can see the positive and negative side to that way of thinking.
Inauguration Day has challenging aspects so that means the new president and administration will have monumental challenges over the course of the next 4 years. This chart becomes one of the few charts we use to make predictions for the country over the next four years along with the president's chart and the USA natal chart.
Another observation about Uranus moving forward in Taurus and an important part of this energy is detachment from what owns you. Taurus is a sign very concerned with money, possessions and material security. Uranus is a planet that demands separation, logic and detachment and often does this, as all the outer planets do, in ways that catch us off guard and make us feel a loss of control and grounding. Uranus does this often through divorce, separation, sudden outbursts, riots, breaks as well as epiphanies, flashes of brilliance and enlightenment. Taurus likes to accumulate because it thinks it needs lots of things in its life for security and stability. Taurus at its most negative is about the 7 deadly sins: Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Lust, Pride, Sloth and Envy. Uranus in Taurus will force a split and a separation from those things, people, places and situations that we no longer think we need. If it owns you then Uranus says, nuh uh, it's not necessary. You may be forced to split from whatever brings that false security. The break may occur through circumstances beyond your control and that would be painful but you also may come to certain conclusions on your own and the split, separation and divorce may be done as a more conscious choice. Often it's a combination of both where an event forces a release and then the action taken surrounding that event becomes more conscious and pushes you in a new direction. If the things you possess are putting you in bondage then its time to break those chains that bind and seek more freedom.
Uranus in Taurus says simplify your life by giving up that which owns you. When you shed layers of stuff your burden is lightened and the walk becomes lighter. You may also unleash new talent and creativity. That is ultimately what is being asked of you on a deeply personal level.
The planet Uranus is receiving a tremendous amount of action these days so we will continue to see things such as rebellions, chaos, unexpected upheavals and turnarounds, things moving at warp speed, craziness, new movements getting under way, political ideologies moving forward and gaining strength and power. We have an old administration leaving and a new one coming in but it is not a peaceful transition by any stretch of the imagination and the astrology says it will not be for a long time. Some of the positive themes of this Uranian/Aquarius energy is about the hope for a new future, the hope for an efficacious vaccine and swift distribution. The hope for the future and a new economy getting under way. Progressive and innovative new technologies improving life on earth. All this is wonderful and will happen but not in the immediate future. First there is revolution and turmoil before there is a birth. Uranus the sky God was castrated and his bloody genitals dropped in the sea. Eventually out of the sea a procreative power emerged from those castrated genitals in the form of Aphrodite/Venus. And new beauty and peace was born. But the birth of that beautiful Venusian energy came from a bloody event. An Aquarian/Uranian quote that is often used is, "Out of Chaos Comes Creativity".
So, let's map out what Uranus is doing. She turned direct yesterday in the sign of Taurus so things are now moving forward with the Uranian and Taurus side of life including money and politics. Time to move forward with a new regime and throw away the old and on with the new. The old values are gone and the new ones are coming in. This is felt on a personal level as it pertains to the house position in your natal chart.
This weekends Jupiter/Uranus square exaggerates, inflames, fans the fires, expands and increases any of the myriad political and social problems we are facing. This adds to the increase of COVID vaccines but also the sloppiness of the roll out. There is too much waste on this aspect. There is also waaaaay tooooo muuuuuuch religious and political proselytizing. Belief systems get stretched out of whack in the polarization and extremism of beliefs and philosophies. There's a lot of "Freedom Fighter" imagery here. Don't fence me in, don't hold me back and DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!!!
The Sun enters Aquarius on the 19th followed by a Mars/Uranus conjunction on the 20th. This is a volatile and combative energy. Mars wants Uranus to take quick, decisive, sudden, and unexpected action. This is not a pleasant aspect considering the times we are living in. Do not pick unnecessary fights with others. The outcome of things will not go as planned. Mars represents anger, violence, combat and the military while Uranus is about rebellions, reveloutions, chaos and making breaks and having divorces. If the energy is used wisely then this is highly action-oriented creative types of thinking and actions that can make incredible strides in self-discovery with brilliance, innovation and uniqueness.
Unfortunately in society we are seeing so much more of the negative side of all this energy playing out. See if in your personal life the positive energy can manifest as you may have more of a conscious choice as to how to direct the energy. Look for love with your friends, family and try to be objective in how you view situations. A healthy detachment can bring a greater awareness of the humanity in everyone and all things and ultimately broaden one's view of brotherly and sisterly love.
There's a maelstrom of nasty aspects approaching so be prepared to gird your loins.
Mercury squares Uranus today. Unexpected news and chaotic information. Knee jerk responses and lashing out verbally.
Venus squares Chiron: dealing with deep seated relationship wounds that need to be addressed. The challenge to heal relationships as well as feelings of low self-worth and self-esteem. Money challenges.
Mars squares Saturn: Getting fired from a job. The action you take goes against your best interests. The frustration of having the powers that be having control over your sense of direction. Driving with one foot on the gas with the other on the brake. Slow, measured and delayed action after knocking your head against a brick wall. Authorities fighting a mob.
Add to this mixture the upcoming Capricorn new moon which is one of the shittiest of the year. Why do I say that? Because the degree of this new moon is at the degree of transiting Pluto. Pluto rules the bowels, the shit, the depths, things that are vile, base and seedy so this new moon is the beginning of a shit show so to speak. Pluto conjunct a new moon is an initiation into terror and spits in our face. I don't use the word holocaust lightly but there is that feeling in the air and no one can deny it. We must transform the energy and power into something that can evolve but that's the energy on the other side of the tunnel and I'm afraid we haven't gotten there yet.
On a personal level a Capricorn New Moon conjunct Pluto says how are you structuring the use of power in your life? Are you using power constructively or destructively? How much influence do you have? How much control do you have over the constructs of your life right now and how much are you at the mercy of others? Do you even have any power? What new beginnings are some of you forced to make because of death and destruction through no fault of your own. Others have benefited from a bad situation not in a greedy way but just because of the nature of their work. If you're in that position how can you consolidate that power and use it to help others while in the process of helping yourself.
These are not pretty times and Plutonian energy is raw and visceral and has dominion over the flight or fight energy of the root chakra. You're probably tired of hearing me say this but these are evolutionary times and evolution is a new birth. Birth is never easy.
It's a new year and everyone is happy to be rid of 2020. So many are optimistic for the future especially as the Saturn/Jupiter conjunction on December 22, 2020 heralds a new beginning in the world via the economy and personally as to how we will approach dealing with the future based upon new social and work structures. This conjunction initiates a 20 year period of new technology, innovation and progress. Aquarius is a Saturn ruled sign so it isn't about throwing out all the old for the new. It's more about refurbishing the old into something new. Keeping structures in our life that still work but updating them. Some structures, institutions and laws will fall by the wayside but in reality most will be transformed so the new energy coming from without has a receptacle to hold it in place and create new modalities. Saturn in Aquarius must provide a box, vehicle and guidelines to hold new information, otherwise chaos ensues. Aquarius deals with the infrastructure of society and the common theme over the next two years will be rebuilding our infrastructure.
Because Aquarius is the sign of hope, optimism, goals, the future, innovation and progress everyone is viewing this as something positive, which it is, but let's not think that all of a sudden there's going to be a miracle and everything will suddenly shift into a utopian fantasy. That's not the way the world works or astrology. Aquarius is the sign of revolutions and as history has proven they often start with a bold new concept towards liberty and freedom from oppression but they quickly turn into a bloodbath. If after the revolution you're not on the same page as the new power dynamic then they often perform a "sweep and purge" type of movement by castrating, beheading and annihilating those that don't align with the new group energy --- and often with a ferocity that is equal or worse to their oppressors. This is the downside of this sign and we must always keep this in mind. Hopefully in modern times we won't see literal beheadings but the metaphor of the words I use is apt.
You can see the Saturn/Jupiter conjunction already in action in the isolated subject of the pandemic and the vaccine. A positive part of the equation is the quick development of a vaccination providing great hope for the future. The other part of the equation is that January will be the highest death toll in the USA since the pandemic started and it looks like a long hard winter of lockdown with most of the population not getting vaccinated till the spring. That's if the distribution isn't snagged through bureaucracy, efficacy and also whether or not some of the population refuses taking it. These are big hurdles. Americans don't like giving up their individualism or any infringement on freedom. Aquarius represents a conundrum on whether or not freedom is attained through adhering to the group consensus or separating from the group for the greater belief in personal freedom as opposed to a more collective response. There will be more rigid thinking and political polarization and demonstrations of extreme types of revolutionary behavior.
There will be a warp speed energy in society of great technological advancements but we must be sure to bring everyone along for the ride and not just those that can keep up. You can't throw away the old in unfeeling cold ways. Many great and wonderful things will continue to happen along with the chaos that creativity requires.
A note on the Cancer full moon that has capped 2020 and initiated 2021. This full moon, like all astrological aspects, can be interpreted several ways. A full moon in Cancer asks us to reflect upon the past. Cancer is concerned with security, memories, the past, home, family, bonds and love. If this has been a horrible year for you with many difficult challenges coming to light due to Covid (or anything else) then the reflection of the year may be one of sadness, depression and feeling down. You may have come to realize under lock down who your true family is, whether blood or chosen. Some may have disappointed in profound ways. You may have ended close family ties and friendships because of an awareness that certain bonds aren't worth holding on to. For others who have gotten closer to family members and have formed more cherished bonds, then the year in review is more deeply satisfying as a result of getting to love people, places, pets or things on a deeper and wiser level --- and that is a great gift. For most of us the realization will fall in both categories. We all must reflect on what love is about in our life and promote greater personal intimacy within the swirl of evolution surrounding us.
The end of the year full moon and first week into January is an accounting and review of the past year. What have you learned from the past? How have you dealt with the past? What challenges did you face? What must you let go of and what must you retain? This review offers an important recap before we move forward into the future. Those that are more reflective will move forward wisely, carefully and with a more grounded purpose even amidst any continuing disruptions that 2021 brings your way.
Wednesday, December 2. Mercury has entered Sagittarius along with the Sun and with a Sagittarius eclipse looming on December 14th this sign is grabbing focus for better and worse. While we all admire the enthusiasm, high-spirited, fun loving and inspirational side of this sign there is also another side to acknowledge that is, shall we say, less easy to be around.
Mercury traveling through this sign can exacerbate some of the negative traits such as exaggeration, stretching the truth to suit ones point of view to the point of lying, and giving out way too much information than is necessary. Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius because Mercury demands facts and information and nothing extraneous. The higher octave of Sagittarius forms opinions based on facts but the lower form (which is on display more than one would like) will spout opinions based on a gut emotion often without taking logical information into account. Remember when Donald Trump said on his inauguration day in 2017 that there were more than a million people attending when photos, journalists and other reported the facts differently? Mercury in Sagittarius is not so concerned with the facts as it is with making you believe the truth from the perspective of the person speaking.
Mercury in Sagittarius likes to bend the truth to what it perceives to be true. It’s the friend who says with great gusto, “I haven’t had sex in over 6 months” and then an hour later they blurt out that last week they had a one night stand, and when you call them out on it they laugh and say, “Oh yeah, I forgot!” It’s also very concerned with size like bigger, better, larger, more expensive, more exciting, flashier and looking for the next adventure or party as opposed to appreciating what is staring them right in the face at the present moment.
It also likes to pass judgment like no one’s business. Covid brings out some great examples of negative Sagittarius zealous behavior. There is a self-righteous zeal that comes into the opinion expressed and they will pass judgment and condemn you if your belief system isn’t in line with theirs as to correct modes of behavior. Often this sign says there is only one right way and it is mine! And they speak with conviction as if commanded by the voice of God! Think of religious zealots and missionaries who constantly condemn others for not following the precepts, faith, religion and laws regarding a righteous and true way to live one’s life. Mercury in Sagittarius just doesn’t know when to keep its mouth shut even if what it is expressing is valid and has meaning.
Because the eclipses fall in the Sagittarius/Gemini polarity this month we will see these behaviors heightened, inflated and overly sensitized. Mercury will be in Sagittarius through December 20 but you should be aware of the trickster being at his most tricky when he goes out of bounds on the 12th, followed by a tense square aspect to Neptune on the 13th and then the solar eclipse on the 14th. The middle of the month is going to be a very, very tricky time to discern fact from fiction and a test of your mettle in filtering communication, knowing what to say, how to say it, and who to listen to.
Saturday, November 28. Neptune stations direct at 18 .09 ° Pisces tonight. Its effects are felt Thanksgiving through Monday although since it falls smack on the approach of a Gemini Lunar Eclipse on Monday it can be safe to bet that Neptune will be blowing out of proportion whatever challenges or events come to light during eclipse season. When a planet stations in the sky for the few days until it makes it directional shift all the subjects falling under its domain are heightened in our awareness. For those with planets or chart points between 16° to 20° of Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius or Gemini the energy will be even more acute as delivered through the instrument of Neptune along with the aspected planet or chart point.
This energy is about escapism and heightened sensitivities and feelings. If you’ve been in a spiral of depression then this energy can deepen the spiral yet, if you’ve been on a high of joy, happiness and optimism then the station will accentuate those feelings. Neptune doesn’t necessarily care what the feeling is but she will want to expand and inflate the mood. A simple example would be if you’re watching a movie you may be paying more attention to the art and set design, costumes, colors and the imagination that went into the making of the movies. The entire atmosphere becomes enhanced. The acting feels more soulful, the camera moves enter our awareness as more of an eye into the soul of the movie makers or more spiritually, the soul of humanity. Movies are after all an illusion. The best allow us to see art, truth and humanity through the illusion and poetry. The worst numb us into a stupor similar to drugs and alcohol. Neptune will help you to make a choice in whether or not you want to experience the agony or the ecstasy. Those with addictions need to monitor the temptation of wanting to over indulge. It’s a great weekend to escape into a fantasy world and there’s nothing wrong with a controlled substance in moderation to lead you to that place, it’s all a matter of awareness and Neptune can cloud good judgment. If you can open your mind to a higher creative energy through yoga, meditation, music or any creative muse that stirs your soul then you should find some great rewards. Whatever inspiration comes your way write it down and make it tangible so that at a later day you can work and perfect the kernel of inspiration that come down the pike on this weekend.
I always think of a planet being retrograde as getting more in touch with Yin energy while when it turns direct there’s more of a Yang influence. Because Neptune rules people who work in the arts have had to spiral inwards the past 6 months to reimagine how they go about expressing their creativity. Covid has made that an even harsher reality. Spiraling inward to search out the muse of creativity and see how to redirect her would have been very important. Now on the direct station and for the next 6 months it’s time to set into action those nurturing ideas that have been percolating.
On a practical level you may be feeling more tired, lazy and want to sleep more. Let your body rest if that’s what it’s saying to you. Listen to and trust your intuition. Write down your dreams. You may be called upon to help those that are physically hindered and can’t take care of daily functions. Help them out. Be aware of the media, information and news you’re listening to. I know there’s talk about a vaccine and that’s great and I’m sure it’s definitely in the works but don’t get overly excited into believing it to coming as quickly as what’s being touted or that it will be a panacea. The Neptune station along with a lunar eclipse in Gemini can be very deceptive and it will be easy to believe lies, fake news and have the wool pulled over your eyes. Don’t make important snap judgment decisions on this energy. It’s not a smart thing to do. If something sounds too good to be true it most definitely is. Neptune rules the pharmaceutical industry and a Gemini Lunar Eclipse is about important information coming to light so it makes sense that this announcement comes out now. The reality of when it’s delivered may be what the problem might be.
We’re living in sad times and the best way to tap into Neptune’s powers is through opening a compassionate heart. Don’t be a Pollyanna or blind optimist but instead treat every person and situation with an open and understanding heart
The Jupiter/Pluto conjunction perfects for the third and final time this year. The other dates were April 4 and June 30. The final conjunction is the culmination of something in a more final way. We just had an election to determine the balance of power. This conjunction says that a decision has been made through the legal system to determine the direction of power to our structures and leadership. This is an aspect that has much to do with expansion of power so we have the former president trying to expand his reach beyond the limits of what may or may not be legal while we have another incoming president trying to make a new beginning with the purging of the old regime in order to make way for the new one. Mars turns direct in the next few days as well so we will start to take slow action to finally make the decision on all levels and the lunar eclipse of November 30 should bring more information to light for a final count while the Solar Eclipse on December 14 should install the new president in the white house. I would imagine Trump won’t give up until that date because that eclipse falls on his Moon and South node which would be all about making an exit from his home (the White House). That eclipse has a purging effect with his south node being involved and the image is a flushing away of the old. Donald Trump has a very powerful Mars and when it was retrograde he needed to revise his strategy for fighting. He didn’t do that and now on the direct station he may gain more power in fighting the fight in his usual way but I think it will most likely be too little too late. Still he has a great amount of fight left to do some serious damage in the transition of political power. The election isn’t over and most likely won’t be until the middle of December.
Jupiter also rules legal decisions and courts so we will see over the next month the extents and excess one can push the legal system in order to retain power. We have also seen the balance of power on the Supreme Court being pushed in one direction. There are also more decisions to be made with other very close senate races. This aspect has a great deal to do with gambling and risk taking so let’s see how far the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction can push the game of dirty politics. Let’s also see if there are some major deaths of very influential people in the vein of Ruth Bader Ginsburg or some other person of the old guard.
This conjunction is also about the amplification and spread of disease and death. The last two conjunctions also coincided with larger outbreaks of Covid. This is yet one more kick to bring us to our knees.
You thought 2020 was over? Not yet and it will go out with a MAJOR BANG!
Monday, November 2. Mercury stations direct square Saturn. There are two very distinct ways to work with transits. One is to take the transits as they exist in the sky for everyone and apply it to mundane, world events. The other more personal way is to overlay the transits on the natal chart to see in what houses they fall to ascertain where in life the transit may have more potent effect, and even more importantly, observing any natal planets and chart points they aspect using a fairly tight orb of 2-3 degrees; the tighter the better.
In the sky right now we have Mercury stationing direct today and tomorrow at 26° Libra. This happens on Election Day in the USA. The station occurs during a very tight square to transiting Saturn at 26° Capricorn. The slowness of the Mercury stations forces it to linger in aspect to Saturn from October 22 through November 10 with peak dates being 10/23, 11/1 and 11/6 although the entire period from 11/1 through 11/10 should be considered a hot zone. Mercury is the planet of communication, counting, transportation and making clear logical decisions. He also has dominion over a number of other issues such as siblings, writing, education, pets and the daily work routine. Saturn imposes limits, restrictions and is all about following the rules and protocol that often cause blocks and delays. So what we can expect as it moves direct on Election Day in aspect to Saturn is that a decision will be made, as indicated by Mercury moving forward, but because of the aspect to Saturn it may be a slow decision as there may be more ballots to count, a lag in the postal service because of transportation and communication snags or just an unexpected block or delay. Everyone wants to make sure they have dotted their “I’s” and crossed their “T’s” ensuring fair balloting and playing by the strict rules. It is important that those voting on Election Day make sure to double check how they are filling out their ballots and to be prepared for delays, mishaps and waits. Mercury has a retrograde synodic cycle that occurs every 20 years meaning that 20 years ago the trickster stationed at exactly the same degree of 29° Libra on the election of November 2000. We look back to this synodic cycle to interpret what might happen at this time period because astrological cycles repeat themes in a variety of ways. If you remember, that election between Gore and Bush was indecisive because it was so close. There was a delay in declaring a winner which wasn’t decided until December 13. We may or may not have a similar situation this year. It will all depend how close or not the actual election count is on November 3. But even if there is a clear winner there has been so much talk about voter fraud and counting that the issues from 2000 have already been reiterated whether or not they play out in the same way.
That’s one way to look at this Mercury direct period in aspect to Saturn. Another way is to see where that transiting square falls in your natal chart. That will tell you where you’ll have to focus attention to improve communication skills and how to rebuild and fix communication structures that have become broken in some way. I can’t go through every permutation, but I’ll give one example. If the square is from Mercury transiting in the 1st house with Saturn transiting the 4th then the general blocks in communication would surround your mode of expression (Mercury in the 1st) vs. your Mother/Father or some other family member (Saturn in the 4th). Productively this may be someone who is doing an awful amount of paper work and gathering family records from the past in order to gain citizenship in another country or just gathering past family information for another purpose such as chronicling family history. Square aspects call for decisive action based upon a frustration and some kind or awareness whether good or bad that a certain amount of focused work needs to be done. Now, let’s add the planet Pluto to the first house of the natal chart at 28° Libra. That means the Plutonian archetype would be added to the interpretation the 1st house interpretation – the image we project, particularly to our personal mode of communication. This would add an obsessive, addictive, intense and passionate quality to this transit and you may be called upon the carpet for the way you use words to sting, being overly intense or cause subterfuge. It’s time to learn a lesson in how to transform the power of your personal communication style.
I’ve got a great personal story to tell about the past 24 hours. My ascendant is 28° Libra and I have natal Venus at 0° Cancer. That is the world axis or Aries point. Planets at this point are often the archetypes for which we become known whether it is through world fame or just recognition from those in your own personal community or family. It’s how we connect to the world at large or in your immediate environment. I was born into a family that had a very famous name in the Italian bread bakery business in the New York metropolitan area. Addeo Bakers is famous city wide (and beyond) for quality Italian bread products that spans generations having begun with my Grandfather in the 1920s. I sometimes only have to mention my name and people ask, “Is that the same Addeo as the bakery?” Although I have no professional connection with the bakery I’m very proud of my brother for having taken over the business from our Father and keeping up the tradition and the great reputation of our family name. In the past couple of days Mercury regressed from 0° Scorpio to 29° Libra and was stationing smack on my Ascendant trine natal Venus. It will be there for the entire week. My brother sent me an email saying that the bakery is being advertised on huge digital screen billboards in Times Square as part of an advertising campaign run by NYCNext.org to support local family businesses throughout the city during the pandemic. The astrology is so good, Mercury (my brother) stationing direct (information and news moves forwards) conjunct my Ascendant (my immediate environment and identity) trine Venus in Cancer (the fame of the family name). The transit of Saturn in the 4th house squaring all these points adds the extra touch that I should do something with the information coming my way like write about it and use it in my work somehow so that it doesn’t just come down as some pleasant event. So that’s what I’m doing as well as helping to publicize it on line via all the social media platforms at my disposal. One has to keep the family structure on solid ground and do whatever it takes to continue the tradition.
Hope this example is helpful especially to those who have knowledge of how astrology works.
There’s an important and volatile full moon in Taurus culminating late Friday night into early Saturday morning that has all the earmarks of an “October Surprise”. Normally a Taurus Full Moon lights up issues surrounding material security. This one is no different in essence, but the form it takes may not be the most comfortable, soothing or conservative energy to enhance or shift that security. The degree of this full moon occurs at an exact conjunction with the planet Uranus. Uranian themes color the entire weekend with ramifications that last into the future. The style with which Uranus colors life events are to expect the unexpected, a roller coaster ride, chaos, things reverse and move in an opposite direction, a 180° shift, divorces, separations, earthquakes, sudden out of the blue events, break-ups, break-outs, break-downs break-throughs, enlightenment and epiphanies. Just last night here in NYC high winds sent a crane tossing and turning high above a tall skyscraper, knocking debris off that came falling from the sky. Luckily no one was hurt but this is the type of energy of which I’m talking. Also, the temperatures here in the northeast are plummeting at least 30° in a short amount of time and a cold wet rain is turning into snow in many areas with the sudden and shocking shift in temperature.
Personally, these disruptive events happen in the house that the full moon occurs. This is an erratic energy and we are taken off guard by what the surprise is, so in some ways it’s hard to be prepared. Yet, the catchphrase “expect the unexpected” is the best way to deal with things and therefore it is a highly predictive type of energy. Let’s see how this plays out on the political front with Election Day only 4 days away concurrent with a Mercury direct station.
This also can be the type of awareness that shakes and knocks you out of a rut that you’ve been stuck in for a very long time. If you’ve been sinking in quicksand then revelations occurring now may be just the right thing to shock you into an important shift and change. The Taurus energy this time around is about not being complacent. It’s essential to make change to the status quo. Business as usual is over and you may need some kind of revolutionary energy to deliver the freedom needed to break you away from the shackles that bind you to a burdensome material existence. It’s about a reinvention of the material world and its resources that support you. Taurus is a very physical and body oriented sign therefore much of this energy may be sourced through the body in terms of diet, physical activity, nutrition and disease. As a money-oriented sign let’s continue to monitor the stock markets and our own personal bank accounts. On a more deeply psychological level pay attention to your inner self worth and self-esteem by being more creatively inventive about your innate talents, resources and gifts. You may be surprised as to what your true calling really is as you learn to apply those talents in new and innovative ways.
One last image is that of an electric lightning bolt thrown from the sky thrusting into a giant redwood tree. Instead of splicing it in half and burning it down there is a reanimation of life and matter that brings a rebirth. Dr. Frankenstein tried to bring the dead back to life with dire consequences. It’s not about playing God in a way where you are looking for unbridled power outside yourself but about looking to see how your inner God/Goddess can enlighten the power within making it sourced from the heart center thereby benefiting yourself and society at large.
While the Sun squares Pluto all day it will be of utmost importance to use the diplomacy of the Libra Moon to continually find balance. Negotiations may be fraught with more intensity than usual, so it's wise to gain perspective while navigating challenging confrontations and deal making decisions. Apply a lighter, more delicate touch while assuming a determined stance. It's important to make your points firmly and strongly but don't over push or demonstrate desperation. If up against a road black better to back off and reflect. It may be more important to re-freshen strategies.
Because the Moon has a deadish feeling in its balsamic phase, let certain things peel away in preparation for a clearer beginning on Friday's Libra New Moon. We are in the Libra time of year but today has a Scorpionic tinge with Pluto in strong aspect to the Sun along with Mercury in Scorpio moving slowly backwards in the sky as it only turned retrograde Tuesday night.
Intuitions, feelings and hunches swirl in the air and heart. There may be a twinge of sentimentality as memories of the dead or the past invade the thoughts. For many these weeks can reveal secrets long hidden that suddenly and/or shockingly come to light. If these revelations are positive then handle the energy wisely and productively, but if the fall-out from these revelations is more disturbing then it is important to process the information mentally and emotionally before acting out. You want to make sure you are coming from the heart center and not acting out of the rawness of bitterness or resentment. Bitterness, jealousy and resentment, are strong feelings that must be honored, processed, understood and allowed to sink into one's being and transformed into more productively powerful energy as it is redistributed and re-expressed.
