Everything is being accelerated. I heard a quote from Fareed Zakaria this morning that is very apt: “There are decades when nothing happens and then there are weeks when decades happen.” We are going through one of those weeks, and I would stretch that to the end of the year. Why are these weeks so crazy and full of upheavals? There are several reasons and I’ve outlined the overview of the year in many previous articles that you can read on this blog but the big thing right now is Pluto. The pandemic degree occurred on the 1/12/20 conjunction of Saturn and Pluto at 22.46 Capricorn. That set off 2020 on its chaotic, evolutionary spiral. At the top of October Pluto stationed direct exactly on this pandemic degree, sitting there and moving at a snail’s pace for the next two months. This is like having an elephant sitting on your belly, smothering, suffocating and squeezing the bile out as it explodes through every possible orifice. Just when you think there is no more putrid sludge clogging the drain another piece of fecal matter is ejected, emitted and expunged. The muck spurts, spits, smears and stains anything in its explosive path. The flies and vultures come to fester on the rotting corpses and decaying matter. Saturn and Pluto are spinning around the orb of this degree; Saturn adds pressure while Jupiter expands the intensity of both Saturn and Pluto. We also have a very unpredictable, chaotic and roller coaster Mercury retrograde whose effects will be felt through the end of November leading up to the Lunar Eclipse. Mercury is in secretive Scorpio opposing truth seeking Uranus. This opposition exposes secrets, dirt, mysteries and financial misdeeds. This aspect throws everything into a tailspin as more and more erratic and unexpected information is shockingly revealed. It’s like a pinball that bounces off one bumper into another, then another and then another because of the constant topsy-turvy information, confusion and general instability. It is mind boggling what continues to come to light on a daily basis. We’re looking to decipher the obfuscated truth through all the smoke and mirrors. Mars retrograde thrown into the mix says you will run into trouble by fighting in your accustomed way. The usual mode of taking action and demonstrating strength, power and aggression will now backfire. An opposite or more thoughtful tactic is advised that is less about bullying and bluster, and more about being an iron fist in a velvet glove. It’s advisable to find a new ways of expressing Martial forcefulness by reversing tactics and strategies. Therefore, for those who are timid, shy and unassertive the retrograde of Mars may be about getting in touch with your inner warrior and expressing your Yang energy in more blunt, overt and assertive ways. Don't forget that the Saturn/Jupiter conjunction at 0 Degrees Aquarius at the top of 2021 is ushering in a new era and a new economy. There's an evolutionary world view that involves adapting to new technologies, shifting politics and a radically changed work place. In adapting to the new you can't leave behind what is good about the past. It's important not to make that tragic mistake. There are many groups of people who feel justifiably left behind and it is important to listen to them. Do not ostracize the disenfranchised but give them space and room to grow and adapt into the change. We should whittle away and throw out that which is antiquated, archaic and worn out. Yet, there is much to value in the structures and traditions of the past and they can help to enlighten new ideas. Let's honor that which is noble about the past and let's learn lessons from our not so noble history. There is much to revise and change. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. I’m singing and taking Yoga classes to recalibrate. Find something that works for you. Comments are closed.
